Science Olympiad

I participated in Science Olympiad (SO) from 7th-10th grade. There are roughly 20 events that we practice for competition. Each person on the team has different events that only allow at least two people. So people take turns doing events for competition. In the 2017-2018 season we made it to the sate competition for the first time!

Jack & Jill

In 10th grade I became apart of the Dayton Chapter of Jack and Jill. I currently service as the chapter's Teen President. We have monthly meetings to decide on different community service projects and group activities. After my first year, I was elected Treasurer of the teen group. Every year Jack and Jill Midwest Region has a teen conference.

NAACP ACT-SO Competition

The spring of 2018 I competed in the local ACT-SO competition in the STEM category. There is also art, music, dance, STEM, writing, acting and culinary categories. I won gold so I was able to go to the national competition in San Antonio, Texas. In the spring of 2019 I competed at the local level in the Health and Medicine category. I made it to the national once again. The national competition was in Detroit, Michigan. I did not win a medal but it I really enjoyed the experience.

Philips Temple Dance Ministry

I've been apart of the dance ministry at my church since it started my freshman year. We practice once a week for about 1-2 hours. We preformed mime and liturgical dances at Philips Temple every month. We haven't been able to preform since March 2020 because of Covid-19.
