My 9th Grade Self

In August, I had no idea what to expect from high school because people say so many different things about it. My goals are to get a 4.0 or all A's. Also, I want to stay on track with my credits. I worried about grades, because now they count toward my transcript. Colleges look at your freshman grades, as well as the rest of my high school career. I was concerned about losing credits. Without the required credits, I cannot graduate. Lastly, I am anxious about taking honors classes, because I have never taken an honors class before. I do not know, if I could handle the work load. I can prevent all these things by studying a little bit every day. I experienced a larger work load the first month, which I anticipated. I am taking honors for the first time.  So, it was just an expectation I had for high school coming in.

An experience that have shaped me as a student is taking the SAT in August. I did it to practice for when it counts later in high school. My mom recommended me to take it, because she knew it would be a long, important, and boring process. Now I know what to expect from an SAT. I also am trying Science Fair for the first time, because I am in honors science. From science fair, I am learning communication and time management skills.

Since the beginning of my 9th grade year, I have been using BPN, which stands for bullet point notes. This method of taking notes uses three to five words to summarize a paragraph. You study those notes every day. First quarter is going well for me, because I am doing well in all of my classes. Also, the BPNs are working.
